The latest version of Ubuntu is equipped with Libre office instead of Open office, but users habited with open Office could find difficulties with LibreOffice. Here is the instructions to get rid of Libre and go back to Open office in the latest version of Ubuntu.
\n1: Make sure that you do not have any broken openoffice left in your system<\/p>\n

[Shell]
\nsudo apt-get purge openoffice.org*
\nsudo apt-get purge openoffice.org-*
\n[\/Shell]<\/p>\n

2 : Then remove\u00a0libreoffice office from the system.<\/p>\n

[Shell]
\nsudo apt-get remove –purge libreoffice-core
\n[\/Shell]
\n3 : Then we need the latest version of openoffice. Download<\/a>
\n4: In my case I\u2019ve downloaded the .tar file to \/tmp\/down\/OOo_3.3.0_Linux_x86-64_install-deb_en-US.tar.gz<\/p>\n

5: Then you need to untar this by \u2018right click\u2019 and \u2018extract here\u2019 or using the below command

\ntar xvzf\u00a0OOo_3.3.0_Linux_x86-64_install-deb_en-US.tar.gz
\n[\/Shell]
\n6 : After that you need to \u2018cd\u2019 to openoffice folder.
\n[Shell]
\ncd \/tmp\/down\/OOO330_m12_native_packed-1_en-US.9483\/DEBS
\n[\/Shell]
\n(Please note that the folder name may change according to the version.)<\/p>\n

7: Run the below command to install openoffice
\n[Shell]
\ndpkg -i *.deb
\n[\/Shell]
\n9: Now we need to install menus and desktop shortcuts.
\n[Shell]
\ncd \/tmp\/down\/OOO330_m12_native_packed-1_en-US.9483\/DEBS\/desktop-integration
\ndpkg -i *.deb
\n[\/Shell]
\nIts done and now you are ready to use Open Office in your ubuntu.<\/p>\n
